Uppsalas varmaste folkfest

For the twelfth year in a row, we carry out the Culture Carnival and with this year's theme; " Lika fast olika ". With this theme we want the festival weekend to illustrate people's equal value and the importance of a multicultural Uppsala.
We believe that all people carry on their culture in different ways and that by sharing it can be both enriching and developing for society as a whole. Read more here, how we work on this.

We gather artists from Uppsala and the rest of the country to offer a wonderful mix of cultural expressions in all shapes, colors and tones. The fully loaded and wide festival program brings the Engelska Parken to life every year and here you can experience everything from folk music, hip hop to theater, samba trains, art exhibitions and everything in between.

Of course, it's free admission!

The children's rivalry is the children's very own area in the party area. The program is full of theater, magic, circus, games and toys! In addition to an exciting program there is a hop castle, playground and face painting.

A colorful Carnival parade

The Carnival parade is the heart of the Cultural Carnival and an Uppsala tradition that you just can't miss! Hundreds of participants from a variety of cultural groups dance together in a crackling parade that trains through Uppsala and causes the streets to vibrate. Let yourself be moved by the joy, the rhythms, admire the side or why not dance by yourself?

The parade starts on Nedre Slottsgatan and passes through the central parts of Uppsala to return to the party site in the Engelska parken where the carnival continues all weekend! See the route for the Carnival parade 2020 to the right.

For our younger festival participants there is also the opportunity to dance in a fantastically sound parade through the festival site together with participants from the big Carnival parade. The only thing the children need is the willingness to participate and to be there. Join us!
